What's Been Sitting On Your Skin 12 Hours A Day?

Flip your bra inside out and read the tag. Most are polyester or nylon, which is plastic, finished with chemicals you can't see or smell.
  • - Polyester and nylon are spun from the same stuff as plastic bottles
  • - Moisture-wicking finishes are chemical coatings sitting right on your breast tissue
  • - Sweat opens your pores and pulls what's on the fabric into your skin
  • - You've worn one 12 hours a day, for 40 years

Nobody told us. The brands knew. We just bought whatever the store sold.

The Study That Made Thousands Of Women Rethink Their Bras

Researchers tested 14 popular bras. Half of them contained PFAS, the "forever chemicals" added to make fabric stain resistant and moisture wicking. They don't stay on the fabric. They absorb through your skin, especially when you sweat. And your bra sits right against breast tissue, some of the most sensitive tissue you have.

PFAS exposure has been linked to hormone disruption, immune suppression, and cancer.

In their book Dressed to Kill, researchers Sydney Singer and Soma Grismaijer documented what the fashion industry had no interest in studying: women who wore a bra 12 or more hours a day had up to 21 times the breast cancer risk of women who rarely or never wore one. Their explanation is simple. Your breast tissue drains through your lymphatic system, and a tight band sitting on it all day blocks that drainage.

It's not your body. It's what you've been putting on it.

This one went to court

They Found BPA In Bras At 40 Times The Legal Limit.

So a watchdog group took a dozen brands to court over it.

Lab testing. Filament spinning. Sweat soaking in. The court filing.

40x California's legal limit for BPA, found in synthetic garments

The Center for Environmental Health tested synthetic clothing and found BPA at up to forty times California's legal limit. Sports bras and athletic tops were among the worst of it. They took more than a dozen brands to court over it, including Athleta, Victoria's Secret PINK, Nike, Patagonia and Aerie.

BPA mimics estrogen. It is the same chemical the plastics industry spent twenty years defending in baby bottles before it was pulled from them. And clothing is not a bottle. Nobody has to prove a shirt is safe before they sell it to you.

Here is the part that should stop you. They found it in one place only. The synthetic blends. The natural fiber brands they tested came back clean.

Go and read the tag in the bra you are wearing right now. If it says polyester or nylon, that is the exact fabric they were testing.

The part nobody talks about

Before 1940, Your Bra Was Cotton.

Breast Cancer Rates Have Skyrocketed Since Women Switched To Plastic Bras.

  • 1940sNylon replaces the cotton and satin bras were made from. The industry advertises it as "a beauty and a revolution."
  • 1958 to 1962DuPont patents spandex and launches Lycra. Bras stop being mostly natural fiber and start being mostly plastic.
  • 1960s to 1980sBras go predominantly nylon and polyester. That is where they have stayed ever since.

Roughly 8,000 chemicals go into making modern fabric, and about a quarter of the world's entire chemical output goes into textiles. The one garment a woman wears pressed against her breast tissue for twelve hours a day is made of them.

Lifetime risk and incidence figures: National Cancer Institute SEER program. US breast cancer incidence is 132.5 per 100,000 women and still climbing 0.7% a year.

What We Took Out. And What We Put In.

We didn't just redesign the bra. We rebuilt the fabric itself.

Most "comfort" tanks still start with polyester or nylon and chemical stretch. Ours starts with organic cotton, gets its give from just a touch of stretch fiber, tested and certified PFAS-free, and has real copper fibers woven through it. Support comes from the whole tank, not from straps and a band.

Nothing digs. Nothing squeezes. And nothing on this tank was made in a chemical plant. It's the feeling of being gently held, in fabric your skin was actually meant to touch.

What's In It, Layer By Layer

1

Organic Cotton Body

Soft, breathable organic cotton instead of polyester or nylon. No PFAS finishes, no synthetic coatings, nothing your skin has to fight.

2

Certified Clean Stretch

Just enough stretch so it holds its shape instead of going baggy. The whole blend is OEKO-TEX certified and tested PFAS-free. Tested, not claimed.

3

Copper-Infused Fibers

Real copper woven through the fabric. It fights bacteria the way hospitals used copper for over a century, no chemical treatments needed.

4

Distributed Support Layer

Support spread across the entire tank instead of two straps and a band. No pressure points, no hardware, and nothing pressing where your lymph drains.

And Here's Why Switching Bras Never Fixed It

Bralettes

Softer, yes. But flip the tag. Polyester and nylon, with the same chemical finishes. The same plastic, just less structure.

Shelf Tanks

The "bra" is a strip of nylon that flattens you, and the elastic is chemical stretch that dies in three washes.

Sports Bras

The most synthetic of all. Plastic compression fabric designed to trap sweat against your skin for an hour, not twelve.

Wireless Bras

No wire, same fabric. Same PFAS finishes, same band sitting right where your lymph drains all day.

How It Compares

Not all support is created equal. And not all fabric is either.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you make the switch.

What is this tank made of?

Mostly soft organic cotton, with a small amount of stretch fiber so it holds its shape, and real copper woven through. The blend is OEKO-TEX certified and tested PFAS-free. No polyester, no nylon, no chemical finishes. It breathes, holds its shape, and feels nothing like a synthetic tank.

What does the copper actually do?

Copper is naturally antibacterial. It's why hospitals lined surfaces with it for over a century. Woven into the fabric, it fights the bacteria that cause odor, so the tank stays fresher through long days, without chemical treatments.

Does the copper wash out?

No. The copper is infused into the fibers themselves, not sprayed on. It doesn't wash out, flake, or fade with normal machine washing.

Will the padding shift or fall out like other built-in bras?

No. The padding stays in place while you wear it, it won't move around or bunch up. When you want to take it out, it comes out easily. Put it back in and it stays put, every single time.

Will this work for my body type? I have a larger chest.

The tank is designed to accommodate a wide range of body types and bust sizes. The distributed support structure means the hold comes from the entire garment, not just a narrow band - so there’s no single point bearing all the weight.

Can I really wear this instead of a bra?

That's exactly what it's designed for. Most of our customers wear it as their complete bra replacement for everyday activities: errands, school pickup, work, brunch, WFH, travel, lounging. It provides 'supported enough' comfort for daily life.

Will this show through white or light-colored clothing?

The tank is designed with layering in mind. In neutral colors, it sits discreetly under light tops. For sheer or very thin white fabric, we recommend choosing a shade that’s close to your skin tone.

How do I wash it?

Machine wash on a gentle cycle, cold water. Lay flat to dry or tumble dry on low. The fabric and padding are engineered to hold their shape and support through repeated washes. No special care required.

The Last Bra Alternative You'll Ever Need. And The Cleanest.

No more polyester sitting on your skin from morning to night.

No more finishes you can't pronounce touching the most sensitive tissue you have.

No more ripping it off the second you walk through the door.

One clean tank. Pull it on. Walk out the door.

Soft, supported, and finally free of the synthetic stuff.
